Job summary

Rocket Lab in Long Beach, CA is hiring a Senior Technical Program Manager I - Flatellite to own high-volume satellite production from prototype to flight. You will lead a team of engineers across manufacturing, supply chain, and test, owning rate, yield, and unit cost with strategic program decisions.

The role requires 5+ years in program management, a proven track record delivering hardware & software, and U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in physics, math, science, or other technical discipline.
• 5+ years of program management experience.
• Proven track record owning a technical program end-to-end.
• U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain security clearance.
• Experience moving hardware and software from prototype to high-rate production.
• Understanding of takt time, line-of-balance, DFM, and learning-curve economics.

Responsibilities

• Command the Lifecycle: lead satellites from concept through qualification and full-rate production; own the technical roadmap.
• Lead the Team of Teams: run multiple programs, make architectural calls, navigate trade-offs in design-for-manufacturing and rate-readiness.
• Build the Bench: foster a culture of bold ideas, coach leaders, and back smart risk-taking.
• Forge the Supply Chain: manage high-stakes subcontracts and suppliers as strategic partners.
• Unblock Excellence: synchronize cross-functional teams to maintain speed and quality.
• Influence the Future: engage constellation operators and work with BD & Strategy on proposals.
