Job summary

SGS Consulting requires a senior Thermal Engineer to develop geometry-based thermal models for space systems. You will apply physical/optical properties and mounting interface considerations while executing thermal analyses to ensure safe operating temperatures.

You will drive design decisions, select thermal control hardware, and participate in developmental and qualification testing, including TVAC, to verify models and requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required; Master’s degree preferred.
• 10+ years in thermal engineering and analysis for space systems.
• Proven experience with thermal modeling software (ANSYS, COMSOL, Thermal Desktop, ICEPAK).

Responsibilities

• Develop geometry-based thermal models using Thermal Desktop, Ansys, COMSOL.
• Apply physical and optical properties, account for mounting interfaces.
• Run thermal analyses to maintain safe operating temperatures.
• Support system design decisions and overall thermal management strategies.
• Evaluate and procure thermal control hardware components.
• Plan TVAC tests for model correlation and verification.
