Job summary

Amazon Leo for Government (ALG) Engineering is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to design, implement, and own software tooling and frameworks for integration testing of space-based and terrestrial systems. You will drive test automation, CI/CD-integrated tooling, and lab infrastructure, ensuring scalable, reliable verification across programs.

In this role, you will mentor engineers, lead architectural decisions, and collaborate with hardware, software, and program management

Qualifications

5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
5+ years programming with at least one software programming language experience.
5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.

Responsibilities

Define and own the technical vision, architecture, and long-term roadmap for test automation frameworks, orchestration platforms, and CI/CD-integrated tooling consumed by I&T engineers.
Lead end-to-end design, development, and evolution of software tooling for verification and validation of complex hardware systems.
Establish and evangelize tooling best practices, coding standards, and reference architectures across the lab engineering organization.
Analyze test data at scale and engage cross-functionally to evaluate product performance and drive improvements.
Own the end-to-end lifecycle of test anomalies and defects; lead root-cause investigations and corrective actions.
Mentor mid-level and junior engineers through design reviews and architecture discussions.
