Blue Canyon Technologies is seeking a Senior Technician in Boulder, CO to assemble electrical and mechanical components for space flight; responsible for following detailed work instructions, collaborating with engineering on build instructions, and mentoring junior technicians.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 7 years related aerospace production experience preferred.
  • Experience performing precision electrical/mechanical assembly.
  • Ability to read and work to engineering documentation.
  • Familiarity with precision manufacturing/assembly tools.
  • Experience using metrology tools (Micrometers, Calipers, Multi-meters).
  • Knowledge of GD&T (ANSI/ASME Y14.5).
  • Experience mentoring junior technicians.
  • Experience using SolidWorks and/or Fusion 360.

Responsibilities

  • Read, understand, and execute work instructions to build advanced and precise electrical/mechanical assemblies.
  • Collaborate and aid in the development of work instructions with the engineering team.
  • Increase efficiency of builds by understanding the engineering intent of the final product and recommending changes to meet the intent more efficiently.
  • Be a go-to resource to troubleshoot non-conforming issues with the path forward for efficiency.
  • Take ownership and maintain build documentation for assemblies, including filling out work instructions, non-conformance reports, and logging time against work orders.
  • Mentor junior technicians.
  • Assist in trainings for team development.
  • Be willing to cross-train in multiple areas of specialty.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
