Job summary
The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Research and Development Engineer (Project Engineer/Sr. Project Engineer – Multi‑Disciplinary Engineering) to guide cross‑disciplinary R&D for overhead intelligence systems.
This is a full‑time, on‑site role in Chantilly, demanding security clearance and close collaboration with government stakeholders. You will analyze, model, and assess technical options across space technologies, contributing to strategy and demonstrations for a major national security
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, mathematics, or related technical field.
- 6+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience in R&D of new technologies for space systems (sensors, processing, or communications).
- Current TS/SBI/SCI clearance and polygraph; US citizenship required for clearance.
Responsibilities
- Manage systems analysis, modeling, simulation, and technical assessments across the customer portfolio.
- Coordinate cross-organization technical analysis for R&D of new materials, technologies and systems.
- Evaluate impact of new concepts/technologies on national security space architecture.
- Provide rigorous technical analysis to inform government decisions on future investments.
- Interact daily with government officials and contractor personnel in a fast-paced, small team.
- Occasional travel.
