Job summary

Viasat is seeking a Senior Project Engineer in the United States to lead the technical execution of an advanced space network and enterprise program from development through deployment. You will translate mission needs into actionable engineering plans and coordinate across networks, software, operations, and integration teams.

You will guide system bring-up, manage scope and risks, and prepare design reviews and briefs for internal stakeholders and government customers.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical, computer, mechanical, systems engineering, or related field.
10+ years of system-level engineering or program leadership experience.
Strong understanding of systems engineering fundamentals: requirements flowdown, verification/validation, and architecture.
Ability to collaborate across diverse engineering domains and drive alignment.
US citizenship and ability to obtain a United States Secret Clearance.
Travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

Managing technical scope, schedule, and risks to deliver missionaligned system capabilities.
Guiding networking, software, operations, and integration and test teams through implementation and integration phases.
Leading system bringup, troubleshooting issues during network/software integration, and ensuring traceability back to requirements.
Coordinating with requirements, analysis, and modeling teams to maintain alignment throughout the lifecycle.
Preparing and delivering technical briefs, design reviews, and engineering documentation.
