Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in Los Angeles seeks a highly skilled Process Safety Engineer to own critical process safety and reliability activities throughout concept to test. On-site role within ACE, collaborating with engineering, test and operations to identify hazards early and engineer controls.

Qualifications

• BS in a technical field (Chemical/Mechanical/Aerospace) with strong process safety foundation.
• 7+ years of experience in process safety, system safety, reliability engineering, or complex risk analyses.
• Experience with high-hazard, complex engineered systems (aerospace, energy, chemical processing).
• Familiarity with NFPA/ANSI standards applied to technical systems.

Responsibilities

• Own process safety and reliability activities from concept through test campaign.
• Lead hazard identification, risk ranking, control definitions, verification and closure.
• Manage MOC with focus on technical risk evaluation and system impact.
• Provide technical risk input to design reviews, test readiness reviews, and operations.
• Collaborate across engineering, production, test, and EHS to align hazard controls with program risk.
• Standardize hazard analysis methodologies and support scalable process safety workflows.
