Job summary

Blue Origin in Los Angeles is seeking a seasoned process safety engineer to own critical process safety and reliability activities across flight and non-flight hardware. You will identify hazards early, drive risk reduction, and integrate controls into design and operations in a fast-paced team environment.

Qualifications

• BS in Chemical, Mechanical, Aerospace or related technical field.
• 7+ years in process safety, system safety, reliability engineering, or complex risk analysis.
• Experience with high-hazard or complex engineered systems (aerospace, energy, chemical).

Responsibilities

• Apply inherently safer design principles to reduce hazards at the source.
• Lead process hazard identification from concept through operations.
• Drive hazards through lifecycle: risk ranking, controls, verification, closure.
• Define and implement engineering and administrative controls.
• Collaborate with Mission Assurance, Quality, and EHS to align hazard controls.
