Job summary

Astrion is seeking an experienced Space Systems Engineer to join the Space Support to Theater Team (S2T2) under the Space Systems Integration Office (SSIO), USSF SSC, Los Angeles AFB, El Segundo, CA. This role advances, integrates, and delivers system-of-systems space capabilities to support national security objectives and enterprise decisions.

The position requires strong systems engineering, mission analysis, and the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in STEM field
• 8+ years in design, development, deployment of space systems
• Active Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility
• Strong systems engineering, mission analysis, and system-of-systems integration
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams of government, SETA, FFRDC, and contractor personnel
• Excellent communication skills to brief complex topics to senior decision-makers
• Willingness to travel up to 10%

Responsibilities

• Lead development and integration of space capabilities across current and future systems
• Perform mission engineering analysis and evaluate DRM risks, issues, gaps (RIGs/RIGOs)
• Conduct system-level capability reviews and propose solutions for mission-critical gaps
• Support war room planning, capability epoch development, and kill chain assessments
• Develop enterprise requirements for high-priority space programs
• Assess policy and technical drivers impacting system design and interoperability
• Collaborate with SWAC, S2/S4/S6, Space Command, CCIB, and PEO offices to deliver SATCOM, PNT, and related solutions
• Prepare and present briefings, white papers, and strategic roadmaps to senior leadership
