Rocket Lab in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer II to join our Space Systems team. You will develop budgets, define requirements, run analyses, and work hands-on with flight hardware to drive missions.

The role requires leading technical development of spacecraft missions, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and supporting program and product management. A Bachelor’s in engineering and 8+ years in aerospace with an active Secret clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering; 8+ years of aerospace engineering experience.
• Experience supporting satellite or spacecraft development programs.
• Active Secret Clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain budgets for vehicle performance.
• Define system requirements and verification methods.
• Run simulations and analyze vehicle functions.
• Develop test methods and analyze data.
• Lead technical development of spacecraft missions.
• Assist with program and product management.
• Create interface specs and CONOPS documents.
