Rocket Lab, based in Long Beach, CA, seeks a Senior Systems Engineer II – Mission Architecture to lead formulation of satellite systems, manage budgets, and validate requirements. You will support business development and work with leadership on critical proposals.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in aerospace, satellite/spacecraft experience, and TS/SCI clearance. The role includes Proposals work, interface specs, and collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (software, computer, electrical, aerospace, mechanical, or other technical discipline).
• 8+ years of aerospace industry experience.
• Experience supporting satellite/spacecraft development programs.
• Active TS/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead satellite engineering formulation supporting business development and new opportunities.
• Develop and maintain technical budgets for vehicle performance.
• Define system requirements and verification techniques.
• Create simulations and analyses across vehicle functions.
• Develop spacecraft mission technical development with the team.
• Collaborate on interface specs, CONOPS, and design docs.
• Write requirements and shape proposals with leadership.
