Job summary

Rocket Lab USA is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer I to join the Space Systems team in Long Beach, CA. You will lead engineering efforts, develop budgets, define requirements, and guide verification across spacecraft missions, working hands-on with flight hardware.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in aerospace engineering, experience with satellite programs, and readiness to operate in a dynamic environment with competing priorities. US citizenship is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of engineering experience in aerospace.
• Experience supporting satellite or spacecraft development programs.
• U.S. citizenship required due to program requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain technical budgets for vehicle performance.
• Define system requirements and verification techniques.
• Lead and own technical development of spacecraft missions; collaborate with teammates on interface specs and CONOPS.
