Job summary

Rocket Lab in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer II – Mission Architecture to lead the formulation of new satellite systems and manage technical budgets, requirements, tests, and the overall systems engineering process. You will support business development, customer interactions, and internal leadership with deliverables for proposals.

You will develop CONOPS, interface specs, and verification methods while collaborating to shape core architecture for targeted opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering; 8+ years in aerospace.
• Active TS/SCI clearance.
• Experience with satellites/spacecraft development programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead satellite engineering formulation supporting business development and new opportunity capture.
• Develop and maintain technical budgets for vehicle performance.
• Define system requirements and verification techniques.
• Create simulations and analyses across vehicle functions.
• Lead and own technical development of spacecraft missions; assist with program management.
• Develop interface specifications and CONOPS with team members.
• Collaborate with customers and leadership to shape requirements and core architecture for proposals.
