Job summary

Agile Space Industries is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to lead cross-disciplinary systems engineering for rocket engine and thruster programs. You will translate mission needs into requirements, develop architectures, conduct trade studies, and drive verification and validation throughout the program lifecycle.

The role is onsite in Seattle, WA or Durango, CO and offers participation in stock options along with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering or related field.
• 6+ years of experience driving systems development in aerospace or related field.
• Experience with liquid propellent rocket engine or thruster hardware.
• Strong understanding of propulsion systems, fluid systems, and integration challenges.
• Experience defining, decomposing, and managing requirements.
• Experience with verification and validation planning and execution through lifecycles.
• Experience with gated design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, MRR, TRR).
• Experience working with government or commercial customers.

Responsibilities

• Define mission objectives, CONOPS, and system success criteria with customers.
• Translate needs into end-to-end traceable requirements and deliverables.
• Lead system architecture development and trade studies across disciplines.
• Ensure cross-domain consistency across propulsion, structures, avionics, thermal, fluids, and manufacturing.
• Plan and execute verification and validation activities, including ATPs.
• Drive early verification to requirements and plan for lifecycle reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR).
• Identify and close technical risks, interface issues, and gaps.
• Analyze system performance and recommend design or architecture changes.
• Facilitate clear communication among customers, internal teams, and suppliers.
• Support failure investigations and root cause analysis.
