Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation in Chantilly, VA, seeks a Senior Member of the Technical Staff to drive architecture studies and shape space system concepts across disciplines. You will collaborate with program offices, customers, and contractors, mentor staff, and define system capabilities and interfaces for space architectures while traveling domestically/internationally up to 5–10%.

Qualifications

• B.S. in engineering, science, or a related technical field with 3–5 years of industry experience.
• M.S. in engineering, science, or a related technical field with 2 years of industry experience.
• Engineering experience in the space, intelligence, and/or defense domains.
• Proficiency in system or enterprise architecting, systems engineering, concept design, and/or model-based systems engineering.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to present methods and results in briefings and reports.

Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in architecture studies with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, supporting problem framing and trade space analysis.
• Elicit needs, requirements, and constraints from stakeholders; mentor junior staff; plan and execute studies; communicate results in briefings and reports.
• Define system capabilities, interfaces, and requirements for space/system architectures to meet user needs and perspectives.
