Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking a Senior RF Engineer to join the Space RF Systems SEIT team as an electromagnetics and RF SME. Lead RF modeling, simulations, and antenna system designs for multiple projects, interfacing with stakeholders and other disciplines.

You will work on high‑fidelity RF characterizations, PCB layouts, and over‑the‑air performance predictions, contributing to new commercial product lines while adhering to RF engineering rigor and ITAR requirements.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering (Required).
8+ years of RF engineering experience.
Experience developing RF models.
Experience using Matlab, Simulink, HFSS, ADS, Python or similar tools.
Solid understanding of phased array and antenna theory.
Deep understanding of transmission line theory in PCB development.

Responsibilities

Participate in evolving high-fidelity RF modeling and simulations.
Develop detailed RF characterizations and designs in HPC environments.
Collaborate with model users and systems engineers to enable product use across two new commercial lines.
Produce designs consistent with RF engineering best practices.
Develop RF models with Program Manager and Chief Engineer guidance.
Create phased array and antenna system designs that are realizable and rigorous.
