CesiumAstro seeks a Senior Radiation Effects Engineer to lead the radiation hardness assurance program for our space systems. You will analyze environments, plan tests, and guide hardware teams to reliable radiation performance.

Ideal candidates have extensive space radiation experience, strong communication skills, and enjoy a startup-like, collaborative environment with opportunities to mentor teammates and influence product roadmaps.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or similar.
• 5+ years of space product experience.
• Experience with radiation environments for components.
• Excellent written and spoken communication.

Responsibilities

• Own Radiation Hardness Assurance plan for LEO and beyond.
• Simulate radiation environments for various orbits.
• Plan and conduct radiation tests on components and products.
• Predict upset rates using environment simulations and test data.
• Advise hardware engineers on part selection and best practices.
• Support software/firmware teams on radiation-tolerant design.
• Lead design reviews for radiation reliability.
• Digest customer requirements to shape the product roadmap.
