Job summary

Moog Inc. in Buffalo, NY seeks a Staff Manager, Project Engineering to lead and mentor a team of about 20 project engineers onsite. You’ll oversee project execution, ensure adherence to technical, cost, and schedule constraints, and contribute to engineering strategy. Strong leadership and hands-on project management are required.

The role requires experience in EVMS, risk management, scope, and budget control, with an emphasis on on-site leadership in a dynamic Space Sector environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant technical experience.
• Proven track record leading engineering teams.
• Experience with people leadership and conflict resolution.
• Demonstrated experience in project management including EVMS, Risk and Opportunity Management, Scope Management, Schedule and Budget Management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of ~20 project engineers.
• Assign projects to direct reports promptly and monitor tasks to ensure they are completed within technical, cost, and schedule constraints.
• Provide personal development for direct reports by conducting performance reviews, mentoring, and monitoring career development.
• Provide technical leadership to the broader organization by providing feedback to engineering strategy.
• Champion continuous improvement in the design and development processes.
• Coordinate with engineering leadership to align project goals and share best practices across teams.
• Maintain key performance indicators and metrics.
• Provide expert technical guidance and support to your team.
