True Anomaly, Inc. is seeking a Staff Power Engineer to lead spacecraft electrical power systems across multiple programs.

You will own solar arrays, energy storage, distribution, and protection, serving as the technical authority for reliability and performance in demanding space missions. Expect to drive architecture decisions, mentor engineers, and collaborate with avionics, software, and propulsion teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Minimum 8 years in spacecraft or high-reliability electrical power systems.
• Experience with solar arrays, Li-ion/LiFePO4 batteries, DC/DC converters.
• Radiation-tolerant design experience for space environments.
• Ability to lead PDR/CDR and design reviews.
• Strong modeling, analysis, and simulation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of spacecraft electrical power systems.
• Own power architecture trades balancing performance, mass, and cost.
• Lead PDR/CDR for power subsystems per requirements.
• Develop power budgets across mission phases from launch to end-of-life.
• Model and simulate power generation, storage, and distribution.
• Design and analyze power conversion and regulation circuits.
• Perform derating and worst-case analyses per standards.
• Conduct radiation and reliability analyses; drive mitigations.
• Define validation plans and testing campaigns for power designs.
• Develop EGSE/HIL environments for validation.
• Collaborate with avionics, systems, software, propulsion teams.
• Document specifications, interfaces, test plans, procedures.
• Mentor junior engineers; raise technical rigor in the Power team.
• Improve power engineering processes and efficiency.
