Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation in Chantilly, VA is seeking Engineering Specialists/Senior Engineering Specialists to lead mission-engineering studies and develop MBSE models across national space programs. You will coordinate multi-disciplinary teams and mentor staff on complex projects.

Candidates should have a BS in a technical field, 6+ years in space/defense domains, experience with MBSE and modeling tools, and the ability to travel domestically. Security clearance eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in a technical field is required.
• Substantive experience in space, intelligence, and/or defense domains (typically 6+ years).
• Proficiency with MBSE or modeling and simulation concepts.
• Experience with project planning and leading teams.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to coordinate with customers and contractors.
• Experience communicating strategic decisions and architecture design artifacts for reviews.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and lead cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop system-of-systems architectures and MBSE models for end-to-end mission threads.
• Develop analytical methods to evaluate concepts for performance, risk and resilience.
• Lead architecture definition for modeling, simulation, and data tools and oversee implementation.
• Identify risks in new capabilities and inform priorities, funding, and resourcing decisions.
• Lead project teams across Aerospace, customers, and contractors on concurrent studies.
• Mentor early career and experienced staff and develop department capabilities.
