Job summary

Anduril Industries in Chantilly, VA seeks a Principal Mechanical Engineer to own full-cycle spacecraft hardware design, including requirements derivation, 3D CAD, structural, thermal and dynamic modelling, material selection, fabrication supervision, assembly, testing and system integration.

Lead the MGSE development, ensure rigorous testing such as vibration and thermal vacuum, collaborate cross-functionally, and mentor the team to advance space capabilities with strict adherence to spaceflight

Qualifications

• Extensive hardware product development experience in spaceflight hardware.
• Experience with 3D CAD in design for fabrication.
• Hands-on assembly, prototyping, testing, and performance characterization of mechanisms designed for 0g and 1g environments.

Responsibilities

• Design market-leading hardware for spacecraft and subsystems.
• Lead rapid prototyping, verification, and qualification activities.
• Ensure high-reliability, manufacturable assemblies and appropriate environmental testing.
