Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking an Engineer Specialist to design, test, and verify advanced FPGA/ASIC systems for space electronics. You will collaborate with internal teams and external contractors to ensure requirements are met and risks are mitigated.

Minimum 8+ years in digital/microelectronic hardware, with hands-on FPGA/ASIC experience, high-speed PCB design, and strong problem-solving skills. On-site work 4 days a week with travel up to 25% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field from an accredited university.
• 8+ years in engineering/scientific roles related to digital and microelectronic hardware.
• Experience with FPGA/ASIC design using VHDL/Verilog/SystemVerilog and CAD tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, and verify FPGA/ASIC boards, units, and systems.
• Conduct independent verification and validation of contractor designs.
• Develop software/firmware and test equipment for hardware testing.
• Lead technical teams or work independently, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
• Prepare technical reports and briefings; support reviews and risk assessments.
