Job summary

Mercury Systems in the United States is seeking an electrical engineer who specializes in Component Engineering to mature our component process and framework across space and terrestrial programs.

The role is hybrid and based at multiple Mercury locations, including Cypress, CA. You will lead reviews, drive component selection, develop NSPARs, manage MRB support, and collaborate with suppliers and customers to ensure compliance and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM; 6+ years defense/electronics experience or 5 years + master's in related discipline.
• Lead component engineer on defense/aerospace/space programs with MIL/ASTM/SAE/NASA knowledge.
• Experience with NSMAR/NSPAR processes and environmental testing per MIL standards.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work remotely as part of a team.
• US DoD Secret Clearance or ability to obtain; US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Lead component reviews, analyses, and assessments for space and terrestrial programs.
• Collaborate with customers, government agencies, and suppliers to resolve supply chain issues and document PMP activities.
• Develop environmental and SOW-aligned component requirements and standardization guidance.
• Create and revise component drawings and verification data for MRB reviews.
• Prepare NSPARs and present non-standard parts and materials to customers.
• Mentor junior engineers and support supplier audits and BOM management.
