Job summary

Mercury Systems is seeking an experienced Components Engineer to lead EEE parts selection, documentation, and qualification for defense programs. This role supports space and terrestrial projects, coordinates with customers and suppliers, and helps mature our component framework within a hybrid work environment across multiple U.S.

locations. The ideal candidate has a strong background in MIL/industry standards, environmental testing, and part qualification, with DoD or aerospace exposure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM required or equivalent
• Typically 6+ years in defense/electronics or 5+ years with a master's
• Lead component engineer on defense/aerospace programs
• Familiar with MIL/ASTM/SAE/NASA specs and standards
• Experience with electronic fabrication: SMT, chip and wire, hybrids
• NSMAR/NSPAR process experience and MIL-STD-883 familiarity

Responsibilities

• Lead component reviews for space and terrestrial programs
• Collaborate with customers and suppliers to resolve supply chain issues
• Develop environmental and qualification plans for components
• Create and revise component drawings and verification data packages
• Support MRB reviews and part/component investigations
• Manage BOMs and libraries, support design reviews with data-backed findings
