Job summary

Blue Origin in California is seeking a Senior Cyber Systems Engineer to shape cybersecurity architecture for spaceflight systems. You will connect flight software data to ground operations, guiding data formats, streams, and storage for a hardened spacecraft solution.

You will collaborate with spacecraft engineers, operations, and test teams to meet mission security requirements and ensure compliant, reliable cyber capabilities across the space vehicle network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity or equivalent industry experience.
• Experience with space systems cyber standards including CNSSP-12, NCSDMO-8, CNSSI-4003, CNSSI-4005 and NIST 800-53.
• 10+ years experience in Space systems command and data handling systems.
• Active TS/SCI Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Plan and configure network topologies and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, routing protocols).
• Use metrics and KPIs to measure cybersecurity effectiveness and drive improvements.
• Assess compliance via monitoring and audits; identify non-compliance and corrective actions.
• Document space vehicle network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
• Support audits by providing documentation and evidence of compliance.
• Maintain security policies aligned with in-scope frameworks and internal standards.
• Conduct regular risk assessments for threats and vulnerabilities.
