Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for Space Ground Software to own the architecture, delivery, and operation of ground-based services that command spacecraft and handle telemetry. You will build modular capabilities on top of Lattice, integrating with legacy DoD systems and new space assets.

The role emphasizes end-to-end responsibility, on-call readiness, security clearance eligibility, and collaboration across teams to meet demanding fielding timelines.

Qualifications

• 8+ years building backend and distributed systems using Go, Rust, or C++.
• Experience shipping and operating production services with CI/CD and cloud deployment.
• Experience integrating software with hardware, real-time data pipelines, or embedded interfaces.
• Proven track record owning services end-to-end and elevating engineering quality.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture of Space C2 services from design to production operation.
• Design, build, and operate backend services across the Space C2 stack (Go, gRPC/Protobuf).
• Write and evolve protobuf API contracts and coordinate interface changes.
• Drive RFCs and architecture decisions for new subsystem capabilities.
• Deploy and run services in secure government cloud on containers/Kubernetes; manage on-call.
• Integrate with spacecraft and ground infrastructure including radios and ground stations.
• Build and run software-in-the-loop simulations to validate operations.
• Mentor engineers and perform rigorous code reviews as a core responsibility.
• Collaborate across teams to plan, build, and test complex functionality.
• Create and analyze metrics for debugging, triage issues, and define next steps.
• Partner with end-users to translate needs into features within constraints.
