Job summary

Compass Group USA is hiring immediately for a full-time Sous Chef at Furman University, Greenville, SC 29613. Location and schedule details: days and hours may vary, open availability is required. Online applications accepted.

You will assist the Executive Chef, supervise cooks, and ensure production standards, safety and sanitation. Compensation ranges from $20.00 to $23.00 per hour, with great benefits, paid training, and uniform and shoes provided.

Qualifications

• Prior cooking experience is required.
• Prior scratch cooking experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cooks and prepares food following approved recipes and production standards.
• Supervises hourly food service associates, including scheduling and training.
• Stores food in designated areas following all safety procedures.
• Maintains sanitation of equipment, supplies and utensils.
• Interacts with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service‑oriented manner.
• Explains daily menu items to associates and customers.
• Keeps up with peak production and service hours.
• Monitors inventory and deliveries; informs supervisor when supplies are low.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
