Job summary

Hawkers Asian Street Food in Dallas is seeking a Sous Chef to act as the direct operational partner to the Executive Chef, overseeing shift operations and ensuring food quality and service standards.

The role requires open availability including nights, weekends, and holidays, with responsibilities spanning procurement, inventory, cost control, and team development. Growth opportunities exist within a fast-growing brand.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years progressive BOH leadership in a high-volume restaurant
• Culinary degree or equivalent training preferred
• Understanding of kitchen financials: food and labor costs
• Experience leading 20–30 staff in fast-paced environments
• Strong written and verbal communication; English proficiency

Responsibilities

• Uphold food quality standards, recipe adherence, and production time targets
• Oversee procurement, production, inventory, storage, and service timing
• Lead kitchen operations in the Executive Chef's absence
• Conduct daily line and sanitation checks to ensure guest readiness
• Coach BOH team, conduct staff evaluations, and reinforce HACCP/Safety
