Job summary

Morrison Healthcare, part of Compass Group, is hiring a full-time Sous Chef for MUSC Columbia Downtown in Columbia, SC. The role supports the Executive Chef, oversees kitchen operations and ensures high-quality meals for patients, caregivers, and staff, with a pay range of $21.00–$23.00 per hour and full benefits.

Responsibilities include cooking to approved recipes, supervising cooks, maintaining sanitation, and coordinating with dining services.

Qualifications

• Previous food service experience required.

Responsibilities

• Cooks and prepares food following approved recipes and production standards.
• Supervises hourly food service associates including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling and disciplinary actions as appropriate.
• Stores food in designated areas following all corporate, state and federal food safety and sanitation procedures.
• Maintains sanitation of equipment, supplies and utensils; keeps workstation clean and orderly.
• Interacts with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
• Demonstrates understanding of daily menu items and explains them to associates and customers.
