Job summary

SpaceX in Hawthorne, CA seeks a Sourcing Manager for Launch Vehicle Electronics Systems to lead electronics category sourcing, develop supplier base, and drive cost reductions for PCB, PCBA, components, and instrumentation.

The role collaborates with engineers and program teams to ensure manufacturability, manage RFx processes, set supplier SLAs, and optimize terms. Ideal candidate combines technical procurement with analytical skills and ERP experience.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree and 3+ years of experience in purchasing or supply chain.
• Alternatively, bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience in one or more qualification areas.
• Alternatively, 9+ years of experience in purchasing, planning or supply management.
• Experience in electronics procurement is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create sourcing strategies for electronics categories (PCB, PCBA, components) to reduce risk and meet targets.
• Develop and manage domestic and international supplier base; enforce category strategies.
• Collaborate with suppliers to implement sourcing and cost-management on platforms and new products.
• Identify cost-reduction projects including tooling, obsolescence, and supplier negotiations.
• Analyze spend, capacity, and financial impact of sourcing decisions.
• Manage POs, supplier delivery performance, and RFx processes (RFI/RFP/RFQ).
• Define SLAs and KPIs with suppliers and monitor a robust supply base.
• Advise engineering on supplier selection, manufacturability, and BOM interpretation.
• Ensure suppliers support prototype to rate production with proper tooling and processes.
• Visit supplier sites to assess capability, risk, and financial health before awards.
