Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an experienced Sourcing Specialist to join the Hawthorne, CA team. You will work closely with engineering and manufacturing to develop sourcing strategies, manage demand for Starlink hardware, and handle RFIs/RFPs with suppliers to drive cost efficiency.

You will lead cost analysis, should-cost modeling, and supplier performance data, while ensuring prototype builds and mass production are supported. Occasional travel and irregular hours may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; 5+ years in purchasing, material or production planning, or supply chain management; in lieu of degree 9+ years accepted.

Responsibilities

• Develop sourcing and cost management strategies with suppliers.
• Aggregate demand for hardware to support Starlink.
• Handle RFIs, RFPs, RFQs with suppliers.
• Lead RFX processes with internal stakeholders for sourcing decisions.
• Manage costs to match budgets and forecasts.
• Create should-cost models for cost analysis.
• Ensure prototype builds are supported by suppliers.
• Drive process improvements and cost-saving programs.
• Present value propositions to executives on cost issues.
• Maintain strong supplier partnerships and performance data.
