Job summary

KAISER in South San Francisco, CA, seeks a Sonographer III for a 40-hour week to perform two-dimensional ultrasonic recordings for physician diagnosis and patient care. You will select equipment and transducers, operate ultrasound systems, and record data while ensuring image quality and patient safety.

The role requires three years of ultrasound experience, an HD/GED, and ARDMS certifications with BLS. You will train new staff and support the imaging department’s standards.

Qualifications

• Must have three years of continuous ultrasound experience within the last six years with no more than one year break in the last four years.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Must have 3 ARDMS certificates from the specified list (Abdomen, Pediatric, Fetal Echo, Cardiac, OB-GYN, Breast or other).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxiety and obtain cooperation.
• Prepare and position patient for examination.
• Select equipment and transducer per examination specifications.
• Operate ultrasound equipment to record diagnostic data.
• Move transducer over body and monitor sound wave displays for quality.
• Photograph and record images for permanent records.
• Enter test data into the ultrasound computer and maintain records.
• Orient new hires and assist with related duties.
