Qualifications

• Two years of college level education or equivalent experience in a health care field.
• Completion of an approved training program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate—Abdomen or Ob-Gyn as required by role.
• Registered Vascular Technologist or Registered Vascular Specialist certification.
• Basic Life Support within 3 months of hire.
• Ability to operate Radiologic equipment and perform related technical procedures.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 35 pounds.
• Excellent customer service skills with a patient-centered approach.
• Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Operates diagnostic ultrasound equipment to produce images per Radiologist instructions.
• Instructs and positions patients for examinations to obtain optimal images.
• Reviews images for accuracy and quality and submits for interpretation by radiologist.
• Assists with procedures and provides patient education.
• Maintains equipment and supplies and adheres to safety and QA/QC programs.
• Communicates clearly with patients and colleagues; follows age-appropriate care considerations.
• May assist at reception or scheduling as needed.
