Job summary

Kaiser Permanente in Maryland seeks a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to perform ultrasound examinations as requested by referring physicians, greet patients, explain procedures, and ensure high-quality images.

You will select appropriate machines and probes, apply gel, monitor equipment, and prepare reports while maintaining clean exam rooms and inventory. ARDMS credentials and 1 year of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion of an ARDMS accredited or equivalent ultrasound program.
• Minimum one year of sonography experience or internship.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to explain procedures.

Responsibilities

• Greets patient, explains ultrasound procedure, and answers questions.
• Selects the appropriate machine and probe to obtain diagnostic information.
• Applies gel and probes to obtain ultrasound images.
• Processes and reviews images to confirm radiologist requirements.
• Prepares initial diagnosis by identifying abnormal conditions for review.
• Maintains equipment, exam room, and inventory of supplies.
• Prepares patient information files with proper identifiers.
• Prepares and submits reports showing the number and type of examinations.
• Performs other related duties as directed.
