Job summary

Tangram Flex seeks a Solutions Engineer to support our Growth Team in Dayton, OH. You will translate complex defense challenges into executable solutions, working with Account Executives, Product, and Engineering to shape opportunities and demonstrate Tangram Flex software and services.

You will lead technical discussions, deliver compelling presentations, and assist with proposals, capturing customer priorities and aligning architectures with MOSA and interoperability goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Current/recent U.S. Government Security Clearance (or ability to obtain one). U.S. Citizenship is required.
• 8-10 years of experience in software engineering, systems engineering, or solutions architecture.
• Familiarity with a variety of programming languages and software engineering tools including C/C++/Java/Python/Rust in an Embedded Environment.
• Experience in pre-sales, solutions engineering, or customer-facing technical roles.
• Deep familiarity with DoD systems, acquisition processes, and mission environments.
• Strong understanding of Software architecture concepts.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience supporting proposals, RFIs/RFPs, or capture efforts.
• Ability to travel 25%.
• Position based in Dayton, Ohio.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Growth and Account teams to qualify opportunities and shape technical strategies.
• Engage directly with Government customers, industry primes, and system integrators to understand mission needs, architectures, and constraints.
• Translate customer problems into tailored solution architectures leveraging Tangram Flex software, solutions and services.
• Lead technical discussions, whiteboarding sessions, and solution workshops with stakeholders.
• Develop and deliver compelling technical presentations, product demonstrations, and proof-of-concept solutions.
• Support proposal efforts including technical solutioning, technical solution narrative writing, and architecture diagram creation.
• Contribute to win strategies by aligning solutions with customer priorities (e.g., MOSA, interoperability, speed to field).
• Act as a trusted advisor on software architecture, integration, and modular system design.
• Provide feedback to Product and Engineering teams based on customer needs and market signals.
• Help define reference architectures and reusable solution patterns.
