Job summary

Evergreen Goodwill of Northwest Washington is seeking a Sr. Solutions Engineer to own a domain of the systems our organization runs on — the platforms, integrations, and automations that keep a 2,000-person nonprofit operating across 26 locations.

This is an internal-facing engineering role, not a pre-sales position. You will design and build replacements, own standards for your domain, and shape how things talk to each other within the enterprise framework.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in solution engineering, systems integration, or software engineering.
• Ownership of a platform or domain — architecture, standards, and accountability.
• Hands-on development with production code and internal tooling.
• Experience building with AI in production, including LLMs and retrieval.
• Ability to mentor engineers and raise engineering standards.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture and forward plan for a domain of critical systems.
• Design, build, and deploy integrations and automation across the domain.
• Own reliability, monitoring, and incident response for your domain.
• Partner with business areas to translate needs into platform capability.
• Mentor engineers, document work, and drive domain-wide improvements.
