Job summary

Fleetio is seeking a product-minded Solutions Engineer within Solutions Engineering to translate customer and deal context into shippable software features. You will collaborate with Sales and Customer Success to unblock strategic accounts and help deliver high-impact, high-visibility engineering work.

You’ll own delivery from discovery to deployment, decompose complex requests into milestones, and ensure code quality, observability, and maintainability across Rails and React web apps.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with Ruby on Rails.
• 2+ years with React.
• Strong experience building production web applications with a focus on quality and maintainability.
• Experience translating customer needs into technical plans for non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to decompose complex requests into milestones and deliver incrementally.
• Strong written communication and comfort working in a remote, async-friendly environment.

Responsibilities

• Ship high-leverage product improvements that unblock strategic deals for key accounts.
• Collaborate with Sales and Customer Success to understand constraints, timelines, and customer workflows; translate into clear requirements and implementation plans.
• Build solutions that meet Fleetio’s product and engineering standards (testing, observability, maintainability, documentation).
• Partner with Product, Design, and Engineering peers to make pragmatic scope decisions and deliver iteratively.
• Communicate proactively and clearly about tradeoffs, risks, and timelines.

This role sits within Solutions Engineering, focused on delivering scoped, funded commitments that win and keep our largest accounts — shipped as a durable Fleetio product that can be supported like the rest of the platform. If you’re excited by high-impact, high-visibility engineering work: this team turns key-account commitments into a real, shippable product so Fleetio can win strategic deals and support those customers long-term. The engineers in this role will directly influence outcomes for key accounts and help close some of the largest deals at Fleetio.

This is a remote opportunity and is open to candidates in the United States, Canada, or Mexico.

Your impact

Your experience

• Experience partnering with go-to-market teams (Sales, Customer Success) on delivery of time-sensitive commitments.
