Job summary

Fleetio is seeking a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer to translate urgent customer needs into durable product work shipped on our platform. You will partner with Sales and Customer Success to scope work, deliver high-impact features, and support strategic deals with production-ready solutions.

This remote role is open to candidates in the United States, Canada, or Mexico. You will own end-to-end delivery, emphasize maintainability and observability, and communicate tradeoffs clearly to

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with Ruby on Rails.
• 2+ years with React.
• Experience shipping production web applications with a focus on quality and maintainability.
• Ability to translate needs into technical plans and manage expectations.
• Strong written communication in a remote, async environment.

Responsibilities

• Ship high-leverage product improvements to unblock strategic deals and expand what Fleetio can deliver for key accounts.
• Partner with Sales and Customer Success to understand constraints, timelines, and customer workflows; translate needs into requirements and plans.
• Own end-to-end delivery: clarify problems, align stakeholders, deliver iteratively, production-ready and maintainable.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering to make pragmatic scope decisions and deliver iteratively.
• Build solutions that meet Fleetio's engineering standards: testing, observability, maintainability, and documentation.
