Job summary

M&T Bank Corporation is seeking a Solutions Architecture Manager to lead a nine-person team of Solution Architects, shaping architecture across enterprise apps and platforms. You will guide cloud modernization, AI-enabled solutions, and engineering excellence while ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in software engineering, architecture, or related field.
• Minimum 12+ years in software engineering, architecture, or solution architecture.
• Demonstrated progression from hands-on engineering to leadership roles.
• Experience partnering with technology and business leaders to deliver complex initiatives.
• Strong executive communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Provide architecture leadership across the portfolio, aligning decisions with Enterprise Architecture standards.
• Guide delivery teams through architecture decisions, dependencies, and implementation trade-offs.
• Lead portfolio planning by identifying dependencies and sequencing initiatives.
• Develop and mentor a team of Solution Architects.
• Own solution architecture development and roadmaps aligned with business objectives.
• Ensure architectural integrity, scalability, and security of solutions.
• Lead design for application modernization, cloud transformation, and AI initiatives.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity, risk, data, and product teams to deliver innovative tech.
• Translate technical concepts into clear recommendations for executives.
• Measure architecture effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities.
