Job summary

SMX is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect to drive design of customer solutions and oversee execution across internal and external initiatives. You will lead architecture decisions, mentor teams, and shape a path from requirements through delivery, aligning with innovation priorities and industry best practices.

Qualifications

• Top Secret clearance required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, a related discipline or commensurate work experience
• 10+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas in a corporate or government solutions environment: software life-cycle management, systems engineering, technical leadership, solution architecture across full life-cycle implementations
• Experience with modern IT practices, DevSecOps, and cloud operations (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Experience with architectural design and customer engagement in delivery projects

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise on customer engagements to address complex solution architecting and project issue resolution.
• Lead architecture and specification development for next generation solutions and advise development teams on design decisions.
• Provide technical leadership to teammates and client service delivery through coaching and mentorship.
• Stay abreast of innovation in development tools and computing systems through training and professional networks.
• Develop go-to-market strategies for software applications and solutions.
• Assist in collecting, documenting, and developing software requirements, system integration activities, user stories, and timelines for project execution.
• Communicate project status, resource allocation, risks, and changes to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Lead research and design activities in development and testing of new software and tools.
• Conduct analysis of available software (commercial, open source, government, contractor).
• Take responsibility in making strategic decisions to support initiatives.
• Lead and contribute to proposal development and identify technical resource needs.
