Job summary

SMX is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect to drive the design and delivery of complex DoD/government software solutions. The role leads architecture decisions, guides development teams, and coordinates requirements, timelines, and risk management for initiatives and proposals.

Requires Top Secret clearance, a CS degree, 10+ years in related environments, and experience with AWS/Azure/GCP, Agile/SAFe, and modern IT practices. Remote-ready with strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Clearance required: Top Secret.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related discipline or commensurate experience.
• At least ten years in a corporate/government solutions environment across software life-cycle, systems engineering, and technical leadership.
• Experience as a Solution Architect with full lifecycle customer implementations.
• Experience with Agile, Waterfall, and SAFe methods.
• Experience with DevSecOps and cloud operations (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise on customer engagements to address complex solution architecting.
• Lead architecture and specification development for next generation solutions.
• Provide technical leadership through coaching and mentorship.
• Develop go-to-market strategies for software applications and solutions.
• Document and analyze software requirements, system integration activities, and timelines.
• Provide project status updates to clients regarding progress, risk, and changes.
• Lead research and design in development and testing of new software/tools.
• Drive strategic decisions to implement initiatives.
• Support proposal development and identify technical resource needs.
