Job summary

Itron is seeking a strategic and technically sophisticated Solution Architect to lead architecture strategy across the sales process. You will translate customer challenges into compelling narratives, aligning objectives with technical and commercial outcomes in the utility space.

The ideal candidate joins a team focused on AMI, Grid Edge Intelligence, and Intelligent Network Connectivity, collaborating with executives and delivery teams to drive value and growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in solution architecture, pre-sales, product management, or consulting in utilities/telecom/enterprise tech.
• Proven ability to develop and communicate complex architectures across multiple techs and deployment models.
• Experience translating customer needs into technically sound solutions with measurable value.
• Strong understanding of AMI, Grid Edge Intelligence, MDMS, data platforms, and utility comms tech.
• Experience with SOWs, scoping, and cross-functional solution development.
• Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills with technical and executive audiences.
• Proven collaboration across sales, product, engineering, and delivery teams.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical solution strategy for assigned pursuits, aligning goals, pricing, and delivery feasibility.
• Partner with Enterprise and Client Executives to shape opportunities and drive TCV growth.
• Develop Level 1 and Level 2 architectures that articulate customer value and outcomes.
• Translate needs into solution narratives using use-case mapping and value storytelling.
• Act as trusted advisor to technical, operational, and executive stakeholders.
• Lead solution positioning for Grid Edge Intelligence, AMI 2.0, and Intelligent Network Connectivity.
• Evaluate alternative technologies to communicate differentiation and value.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure solution accuracy and smooth sales-to-delivery transition.
• Contribute to reusable solution assets and continuous improvement of practices.
• Demonstrate customer-centric, collaborative leadership in engagements.
