Ulta Beauty, Inc. is seeking a Senior Manager, Solution Architecture to drive the technology strategy for customer-facing digital experiences across Web, Mobile, and GraphQL layers.

This leader will mentor architects, guide architecture reviews, and deliver measurable business outcomes while maintaining high performance and scalable platforms. The role blends strategic planning with hands-on design, requiring collaboration with Product, UX, and Engineering leaders to shape roadmaps and ensure

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in software engineering or solution architecture.
• 5+ years in leading architecture teams or technical organizations.
• Experience architecting enterprise-scale customer-facing digital platforms.
• Deep expertise in React-based web applications and modern frontend architecture.
• Strong understanding of GraphQL, API-first design, and integration patterns.
• Knowledge of headless CMS platforms (Amplience preferred).
• Familiarity with Redis and distributed caching strategies.
• Experience designing scalable, resilient, high-performing web/mobile solutions.
• Strong documentation and executive communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture for complex, enterprise-scale digital initiatives.
• Build prototypes, POCs, spikes, and reference implementations to validate approaches.
• Guide engineering teams through architectural decisions and critical challenges.
• Review APIs, GraphQL schemas, and integration patterns for scalability and security.
• Partner with Product, UX, and Engineering to align technology with business outcomes.
• Drive performance, observability, resiliency, and operational excellence.
