Job summary

Cummins is seeking a Senior Solution Architect to join our Systems/IT team in Columbus, IN. You will design scalable architectures, define component interfaces, and ensure alignment with enterprise standards and technology strategy.

You will collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams, evaluate design options, lead pilots, and build reusable reference architectures across regions to maximize value and adoption.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in solution or system architecture in large, complex organizations.
• 10+ years of total professional experience in software development, application engineering, or related technical roles.
• Hands-on experience as a Software Developer and/or Technical Lead is required.
• Experience with Java, Angular, Kubernetes, .NET, PHP.
• Architecture development framework and methodology; familiarity with MuleSoft, Azure APIM, Azure Data Factory.
• Deep knowledge in DevSecOps areas of GitHub Actions, Copado, SonarQube and Veracode.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable system architectures by defining component structures and interfaces.
• Evaluate design options, conduct cost-benefit analyses, and align outcomes with business needs.
• Champion enterprise architecture standards and best practices.
• Create global reference architectures for consistency and reuse across teams and regions.
• Influence solution development and translate strategy into practical tech solutions.
• Build partnerships with stakeholders and technical teams to maximize business value and adoption.
• Lead pilots and proof-of-concept initiatives to validate new capabilities.
• Assess infrastructure capacity and future technology needs to support growth.
• Manage project risks and issues to maximize positive outcomes.
• Ensure designs align with Cummins standards and reference models.
