Executive Summary

The Pastor of Calvary Community Church serves as the faithful undershepherd of Christ's flock in Harmony Township, New Jersey. He joyfully proclaims the gospel to our community and the surrounding areas. He leads our worship with reverence and provides robust Reformed teaching and preaching, along with tender, ongoing spiritual care for our members. The pastor is ordained or able to be ordained in accordance with the standards of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church. He possesses a deep love for preaching and teaching, fostering God-glorifying worship, fervent prayer, and reaching the lost.

Worship Leadership

1. Plan and organize Order of Worship
2. Select music, Scripture readings, corporate prayers, etc.
3. Lead worship with assistance from the Session
4. Administer Lord’s Supper (1st Sunday of every month) and baptism (per church policy)

Preaching/Teaching

1. Preach/Teach/Lead weekly church services/Bible studies (Sunday AM/PM + Midweek)
2. Preach/Lead all special services
3. Teach/Lead Adult Sunday School
4. Oversee all Sunday School Teachers and curriculum content (Teen and Children)
5. Preach/Teach in other contexts as the Session requests or as desired

Church Life and Discipleship

1. Conduct pastoral visitation to homes and workplaces of congregants as prudent
2. Provide Scriptural counsel to congregants
3. Provide Biblical Counseling to members as requested
4. Equip Congregation for Evangelism and lead by example
5. Oversee New Member Curriculum and process
6. Administer weddings and funerals per church policy
7. Disciple men of the church towards leading family worship with effectiveness
8. Serve as primary point of contact for prospective visitor inquiries

Leadership

1. Serve as Moderator of Session
2. Oversee Diaconal Ministry alongside the Session
3. Conduct spiritual leadership development with prospective officers as identified by the Session
4. Serve as principal point of contact between the church and the presbytery
5. Ex-officio member of the Board of Trustees
6. Manager of Church Secretary/Office Staff
