Job summary

RTX in Massachusetts is seeking a Principal Engineer - Solid Propulsion to lead advanced propulsion technologies and the integration of propulsion systems for missile and space vehicles. This onsite role requires active DoD clearance and citizenship.

The Energetics and Propulsion Department handles warhead, fuzing, and propulsion tech across programs, focusing on power systems, ignition, and safety. You will manage propulsion development, subcontract oversight, and customer engagements.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 8 years of prior relevant experience or an advanced degree with 5 years of experience.
• Eight (8) years of experience in propulsion technology and its application to solid propulsion systems.
• Experience in developing solid propulsion systems from conceptual design through final test/assembly.

Responsibilities

• Develop advanced propulsion technologies and integrate propulsion systems for missile and space vehicles.
• Lead development and production programs across Raytheon Product Lines; manage propulsion subcontracts.
• Review manufacturing processes and coordinate with subcontractors on solid rocket motor propulsion designs and manufacturing.
• Deliver technical presentations to management and government agencies and interface with customers to identify needs.
