Job summary

System One seeks a Sr Solar Farm Technician in Huron, CA to lead complex diagnostics, maintenance, and commissioning at one or more solar and BESS sites. This onsite, senior contributor role emphasizes safety, reliability, and continuous improvement.

You will mentor technicians, drive preventive maintenance, and serve as the primary technical escalation point while ensuring asset performance and safety culture across operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree or certification in renewable energy technology or electrical systems preferred.
• Minimum 8 years of experience, including technical leadership roles within renewable energy.

Responsibilities

• Install, operate, maintain, and repair solar PV systems and inverters for optimal performance.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues to support continuous power generation.
• Lead hazard recognition, energy isolation, and safety protocols for high-criticality operations.
• Assist in acceptance and performance tests after planned maintenance or outages.
• Provide technical mentorship and guidance across staff levels.
• Operate the site from the Control Room and guide field technicians.
• Plan maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and optimize resources.
• Support Balance of Plant maintenance including substations and collection systems.
• Troubleshoot complex system and subsystem failures using advanced diagnostic methods.
• Develop maintenance plans to ensure efficient operation of systems and equipment.
• Participate in on-call schedules and work under extreme weather conditions as required.
