Job summary

Primoris Renewable Energy, a business within Primoris Services Corporation’s Energy segment, seeks a Senior Estimator for utility-scale solar PV projects. Develops accurate estimates, analyzes plans, and leads bid reviews to support winning bids.

The role requires 8+ years in construction estimating, including 5+ years in large-scale solar, with HCSS HeavyBid/B2W proficiency and strong analytical skills. Travel to project sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in construction estimating, with at least 5 years focused on large-scale solar PV projects.
• Proficiency in estimating software (HCSS HeavyBid, B2W Estimate) and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents.

Responsibilities

• Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for utility-scale and commercial solar PV projects, including labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and indirect costs.
• Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to assess scope and identify risks or opportunities.
• Conduct detailed quantity take-offs for modules, inverters, racking, BOS, civil works, and electrical balance of plant.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotes per project requirements and standards.
• Collaborate with engineering, project management, and business development teams to optimize design and cost-effectiveness.
• Lead bid reviews and participate in client presentations, communicating scope, assumptions, and breakdowns clearly.
• Identify value engineering opportunities to reduce costs while maintaining quality and performance.
• Mentor junior estimators and ensure estimates comply with company policies and ethics.
