Job summary

First Solar is seeking a senior process engineer to lead manufacturing improvements for solar module production. You will manage engineers and technicians, partner with Development Engineering and Global Supply Chain, and drive robust processes through CMS stage-gate while aligning with Quality & Reliability.

Candidates should have 8+ years in process engineering or R&D in manufacturing, with strong data analysis skills and experience in PV manufacturing or related fields.

Qualifications

• Bachelor/Master/PhD in Engineering or Physical Science or equivalent.
• 8+ years process engineering and/or R&D experience in manufacturing.
• Fluent with statistical analysis methods and tools; adept at analyzing big datasets using JMP or Minitab.
• Experience in Photovoltaics Manufacturing Flow or Technology Development across Thin Film Vacuum Deposition, Glass Processing, Module Packaging, Semiconductor Processes.
• Familiar with Materials Analysis methods (optical/x-ray spectroscopy, microscopy, electrical characterization).
• Proven ability to lead small technical teams with goal setting and performance management.

Responsibilities

• Develop, improve, and document robust solar module manufacturing processes to maximize product performance and cost efficiency.
• Perform in-depth investigations into process issues and evaluate new equipment per standards.
• Lead local task forces and project teams; influence up to director level globally.
• Define and implement corrective/preventive actions and continuous improvement activities.
• Ensure adherence to safety procedures and good housekeeping.
• Coordinate with Development Engineering, Global Supply Chain, Quality & Reliability to troubleshoot and scale changes.
