Job summary

Xcel Energy seeks an experienced engineer to join the Renewable Generation Development team as a Staff/Senior/Principal Engineer. You will lead early-stage solar development, site layout, design optimization, and technical due diligence, aligning projects with portfolio goals.

You will act as a technical SME, guiding complex analyses and coordinating with development, environmental, and transmission teams to ensure executable, sound solar solutions.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree is required.
• 2+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• EIT/FE strongly preferred; PE may be required depending on business need.

Responsibilities

• Applies extensive technical expertise and demonstrates advanced principles.
• Conceives plans and conducts research to develop procedures and standards.
• Provides technical leadership on self-initiated assignments.
• May lead multiple critical projects including design, installation and evaluation.
• Advises management and customers on advanced technical studies.
